Dropping word bombs in your TV! (And other things)

According to a recent survey, about 63% of Curie students think that TV should not be censored. Many say that censorship ruins the show. Others say kids will learn about words sooner or later. One student said that TV is good! But censorship isn't all about bad words, it's also about nudity, sex, gore, and other very obscene things.

1)Why would anybody want to censor a TV show?
The broadcasters don't want the average watcher to see something obscene and get ridiculed for it and lose viewers in the process.

2)Who does the censoring?
The FCC does the censoring and can fine a broadcaster for having uncensored content.

3)How is censorship done?
A broadcast engineer manually uses a software module to bleep out the swear words.

4)When did censorship start appearing on TVs?
It started in the 1950's and because the average person would deem it, some scenes, deplorable.

5)What exactly is censorship?
Carefully examining a book, song, movie, TV show, etc. and taking away the bad parts.
